Perdiz Hunting
Perdiz hunting at La Bellaca is a highlight, with this prized upland game bird offering a unique challenge. Hunted over well-trained pointers, perdiz thrive in low ground cover, often flush as singles or pairs, making each shot both demanding and exhilarating. The on-site chef will prepare fresh perdiz for a gourmet meal after your hunt, completing an unforgettable experience.
Pigeon and Dove Hunting
La Bellaca is known for its exceptional pigeon and dove hunting. Pigeon hunts take place in nearby cornfields and sorghum plantations, with expert guides setting up natural blinds and decoy spreads to ensure productive shooting sessions. Hunters can expect to go through about six boxes of shells during a half-day pigeon shoot.
For dove enthusiasts, La Bellaca offers some of the best high-volume shooting in the world. Considered a pest in Uruguay, eared doves are present in overwhelming numbers. During peak season (November through April), hunters can expect to shoot over 100 boxes of shells a day. With short travel times to the hunting grounds, you’ll spend more time in the field and less on the road.
Sample Hunting Itineraries
Pigeon, Perdiz, and Dove (April – July)
Day 1: Upon arrival at Montevideo’s International Airport, you will be greeted by our English-speaking guide and driven 45 minutes to La Bellaca. After settling in, enjoy an afternoon dove shoot followed by cocktails and a gourmet dinner.
Day 2-3: Enjoy a morning hunt for pigeons over decoys or perdiz over dogs, followed by an afternoon dove shoot. Between hunts, relax with lunch and a siesta. Evenings will feature cocktails, dinner, and accommodations at the lodge.
Day 4: Conclude your trip with a morning hunt, followed by lunch at the estancia before your transfer back to the airport for your overnight flight.
High-Volume Dove (November – April)
Day 1: Arrive at Montevideo, meet your guide, and transfer to La Bellaca for an afternoon dove shoot. Relax in the evening with dinner and cocktails.
Day 2-3: Full days of high-volume dove hunting, with breaks for lunch and relaxation at the lodge.
Day 4: A final morning dove shoot before departing for the airport after lunch.
